It is with great pride and excitement that we announce plans for the Twenty-third Annual Scholarship Dinner of Yeshiva Har Torah. Our Guests of Honor will be Gloria and Harvey Kaylie , Honorary Building Chairs, as we pay tribute to their beloved mother, Tess Kaylie , ע״ה, on the occasion of her first yahrzeit and establish the Tess Kaylie Memorial Scholarship Fund . Our Pillars of Jewish Education will be Alison and Ari Gross and our Aishet Chayil Awardee will be Ilanit Rabanipour. The Dinner will take place, אי״ה, on Saturday evening, February 25, 2012, at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows Park.
Tess Kaylie, ע״ה , lived a full and long life, maintaining the very highest ideals and principles, and transmitting those core values to her family. She passed away in March of 2011, in her 100th year.
Gloria and Harvey Kaylie became involved with our yeshiva some six years ago even though they had no direct family links to YHT. They simply saw us as a special yeshiva and they wanted to help elevate us to the next level. Harvey joined our Board of Directors and has been an inspiration to our yeshiva’s professional and lay leadership. His keen business sense, coupled with his incredible common sense and his deep and abiding love for our people, contributed to his uncanny ability to lead YHT in directions which previously had only been dreams. As Honorary Building Chair, Harvey, with Gloria’s full and active support, has helped us plan, finance and execute the third floor expansion so that we have been able to reach it’s completion on time and well within budget. This year, Gloria and Harvey were thrilled that their grandson Hudson, son of their daughter Roberta, entered our sixth grade. It is truly our honor to have the Kaylies as part of the YHT family and to dedicate our Annual Dinner in their honor and in tribute to the matriarch of their family.
Alison and Ari Gross have been YHT parents for nine years. In their own very quiet way, the Grosses have supported countless events at YHT, always with the intention of providing a rich, well-rounded and fulfilling education for the students of YHT. Their ongoing support of our Golf Outing and the spirit of volunteerism as evidenced by Alison’s involvement in various P. T. A. activities further demonstrate their unwavering concern for the success of our yeshiva. We are proud to honor the Grosses for all that they have done for our yeshiva and for their commitment to the values that we hold dear. As Yair approaches graduation, we look forward to welcoming Amir into our Kindergarten class next year.
Ilanit Rabanipour is a familiar face to us all as she has been actively involved in so many activities here at Yeshiva Har Torah. From class mother to lunch mother, Ilanit can always be counted upon to pitch in whenever she is needed - and to do so with a smile. Most importantly, Ilanit’s assistance is tendered with only the purest of motives to serve her children’s yeshiva and to be a role model for her wonderful children, all of whom are following closely in her footsteps. Together with her husband Soleiman, the Rabanipours have been active supporters of our yeshiva for many years.
