Dear Parents and Friends of Yeshiva Har Torah,

Never before in the fourteen years that I have been privileged to serve as Menahel of Yeshiva Har Torah have I felt the need to make a direct, personal appeal to the YHT community. However, today I turn to each of you, not only because of the difficult financial situation which has impacted so many of our families and prevented them from fulfilling their tuition obligations, but because we have identified a very generous anonymous benefactor who is prepared to sponsor a "Tough Times Challenge Matching Grant” for our school, and will match dollar for dollar every contribution given from the YHT family towards our Close the Gap Campaign. This is a limited time opportunity and will expire on July 31st.

This generous benefactor feels and needs to see that all YHT parents express their commitment to helping close the gap at whatever level they are capable. While it is important that we raise as much as possible, this special sponsor is equally interested in seeing 100% participation on the part of our families.

I am most appreciative to the families who have already responded generously to Phase I of the “Close the Gap” campaign. I am happy to report that the approximately $50,000 which has already been raised from some 30 families, will be matched retroactively by our benefactor at 50 cents for every dollar, or nearly $25,000. I am confident, as is our benefactor, that if every YHT family gives what it can to Phase II of the “Close the Gap” campaign, that coupled with the "Tough Times Challenge Matching Grant”, we will successfully close our current gap and move forward into next year on solid financial ground.

I appeal to you and urge you, for the sake of your children, my beloved talmidim, to join in this unique opportunity to have your contribution have double its impact. We are asking each family to contribute or raise $500 if that is possible, and if it is not, to participate anyway, at whatever level is comfortable, before July 31st. We need every family to send in something so we do not lose this most unusual grant opportunity.
