November:
Theme: Teams are made up of diverse people.
Essential Questions: What do I bring to a team? How do we recognize others on a team?
Lesson: In honor of the Shabbat Project, Shabbat Across YHT, and Thanksgiving, we will be featuring a YHT Shabbat meal, with all the diverse foods from our different communities. The project will culminate with pictures of foods being posted by classes in the lunchroom.
Books of the Month: 1st & 2nd grade - Up the Creek by Nicholas Oldland; 3rd & 4th - The William Hoy Story by Nancy Churnin.
 
December/January:
Theme: Upstanding
Essential Questions: Who is a leader? How did the Maccabim succeed against all odds? How did they stand up for what is right, even when it was hard?
Books of the Month: 1st & 2nd grade - One by Kathryn Otoshi; 3rd & 4th - The Banana-Leaf Ball: How Play Can Change the World by Katie Smith Milway
Project: Team building with the Wilderness Rabbi
 
February:
Theme: Being A Good Listener
Essential Questions: What ideas can I learn from others? How can I be a good listener?
Books of the Month: 1st & 2nd grade - Splatter by Diane Alber; 3rd & 4th - Teamwork Isn't My Thing, and I Don't Like to Share by Julia Cook
Project: Psych team groups about teamwork and being a good listener
