The Makerspace is Yeshiva Har Torah's innovative STEM learning lab, where elementary school students engage in hands-on engineering and design challenges that foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Guided by a dedicated Makerspace teacher, students work in small groups to solve open-ended problems using the Design Thinking process.

Rather than following a single set of directions, students are encouraged to brainstorm, build, test, revise, and improve their ideas through iterative design. They learn the value of "failing forward," recognizing that mistakes are an essential part of the engineering process and that perseverance often leads to the strongest solutions.

Throughout the year, students tackle a variety of engaging challenges, such as designing the fastest wind-up car, building structures capable of supporting specific amounts of weight, and creating original solutions to real-world problems. Using a wide range of tools and materials, students develop engineering and design skills while strengthening communication, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
