Did you have a favorite class or teachers and favorite YHT memories?

The relationship that I developed with Rabbi Freid during my time at YHT really cemented my connection to the school. We’ve remained in touch to this day and still maintain a very warm and close connection that keeps the positive memories of YHT with me always. My fondest memories included playing for the hockey team (even though I showed up for only 4 games…Rabbi Fried couldn’t resist my slapshot), the 8th grade Washington trip, the Shabbaton in Far Rockaway, and YHT being the first place I put on tefillin.

Is there anything from YHT that inspired you to be the person you are today?
YHT instills a ton of positive values as it relates to midot in its students. It’s a place where Judaism is inherent and I believe strongly that its kept with me to this day. I also consider the emphasis I place on humility, respect, and kavod where it belongs to be values nourished from my time at Har Torah.
